Niccolò Machiavelli was a brilliant political strategist and writer. Born in 1469, Machiavelli is considered the "father of modern political theory". He worked for the Medici family, and was briefly imprisoned and banned from political work. In this period of his life, he wrote his famed book, The Prince, which is a shocking approach on politics yet it is a true approach. The book is debated to this day.
